Big Changes on My Website

Every once in a while, I need to redecorate. Not my house... my website! I've been working on each section of the site to make them look a bit more uniform. So far, the Dragon Knights section has a new look, as does the FutureWorlds section. I'm still a bit indecisive over what to do for the paranormal section, but that needs a big overhaul, so watch for it in the coming days. As soon as I decide on a design, it'll be changing big time.

In other news, I was amazed to see that Hara's Legacy is already available for pre-order on Amazon.com. The book isn't due out 'til March, but I'll happily send a goodie package - including a signed bookplate, so you can have a signed copy of the book - to anyone who emails me with proof that they've pre-ordered. Don't forget to email me at biancadarc at gmail.com with your mailing address!

The world according to Aline

So a few things have been happening with me ( hmmm or maybe I should say to me LOL since I have no control over it)

First my latest sale The Perfect Hero got an awesome new cover.

And since Red Rose Publications opened their door yesterday I was given my release date for the book. AUGUST 9TH, 2007 Wooooooohoooooooooooooo

I got home from my off rotation from the diamond mine to find a ten year old boy sitting on my doorstep. Seems he decided he was staying with me for the week, gotta love the nephew. ( and I do LOL but man they can drain your energy)

Michelle Hasker sold another book to Aspen Mountain Press, yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Michelle. You go Girl.

Speaking of Aspen, my Book Blood Red will be lengthened and re-released with Aspen Mountain Press to familiarise everyone with the story then the rest of the series will be released periodically. I have 4 books sold in that series to date. Yay me hehehe. So if you loved Nicolai (as much as Michelle does LOL) you'll be happy to hear that he's gotten his own story. Book 3 I believe.

I signed up for the 70 days of Sweat and while the nephew was visiting I fell behind but heck, he wantred ALL my attention so it couldn't be helped LOL.

Hehehe he's cute isn't he, not so scary.

Not sure if you've been following the daughter's FTDB, but some of the girls are doing really well. Yay girls ...

Well I'm off still have an hour of work to do before bed.

Night all.

Bianca's New Cover!

Here's the cover for the sequel to Ezekiel, the next in the Sons of Amber series - Michael - coming in August from Phaze.

Here's a little bit about the story:

Michael is a Dominant Son of Amber, commandant of the human fighting forces and in charge of Atlantia Station. When he learns a smuggling ring is kidnapping human women and transporting them to the jit'suku galaxy, he goes undercover with his executive officer to uncover the rats in their own kitchen. But playing the role of submissive female is something Leah, the competant XO, isn't sure she can do. Michael proves she not only can, but will enjoy the Dominant games he plays so well for benefit of the smugglers they must convince.

I'm really pleased with the way this came out. It depicts a scene in the latter part of the story when they're back on board one of their own transport ships and back in uniform. Things aren't completely settled, so there's a bit of angst on both their faces. She's sending him off to battle and is going off to trap a traitor herself, so they're both going into danger. I hope some of that emotion comes through when you look at the image.

For more about the book, goto my website (www.biancadarc.com) and click on "FutureWorlds."

Until next tmie,
Bianca

Hot Summer

Between the killer heat and no AC until yesterday, I've been sweating up a storm. Quite ironic that I then signed up for the 70 days of sweat on Allison Kent's blog. So, I've written just over 8,000 words, well on my way to my 80,000 word goal. Course with the kids and painting the dining room - which happens to be my office- we'll just see how much I get done. LOL

The daughters are also doing a FTDB (Finish The Damn Book). I actually finished the book I was using for that LOL. So gonna use the rest of my time to edit it, which worked out for the best since I deleted an entire scene and need to rewrite it. Yes, it WAS on purpose.

How many out there know how hard it is to write while holding a wriggling 2 year old?
And on his speech...Well, My husband and I were working with him and you can see my son concentrating really hard to speak. He hesitates between words. The pediatrician recommended a speech therapist...but really..for a 2 year old? I need to wait until it would be covered by my insurance.

Now I need to get him off me and change my shirt as I'm now covered in chocolate from his ice cream cone. LOL Ignore the typos please. I'd rather change then do a spell check LOL.

Have a great week and good luck to the daughters participating in FTDB and 70 days of sweat!

Freedom, the muse, erotic romance and writer's block

Since the nation just celebrated Independence Day, I thought I'd use that for this month's blog topic. I'm going to talk about freedom for writer's.

Writers need freedom to create. It keeps the muse happy and healthy.
When a writer is put into a box and told you can only write this or this, then for me my muse is effectively imprisoned.

Lack of freedom (and fear) also contribute to writer's block. If someone would have told me two years ago I would be writing and selling erotic/sensual paranormal romance I would have been stunned. I never imagined I could write really hot, but it seems I can. Initially, I wanted to educate myself on erotic romance because it was becoming popular and when talking about romance writing I wanted to be able to answer in an intelligent and knowledgable manner. All people, not just romance writers have their own points of view concerning erotic romance.

I began reading erotic romance and decided why not try it? If it sucks lemons then all I have to do is delete it. Without the giving myself the freedom to try this genre, I would never have known that I could write it and then sell it.

Give yourself the freedom to try writing in a genre you've always wanted to.
If you're a reader, try reading in a genre or an author you've considered but haven't.

Freedom is something we should never take for granted, nor should we let others dictate and take our freedom of choice away.

Until next month...

I've been a bad blog-monkey

Blogs have taken a back-seat for me for the past month. Maybe I've been writing too much and my blogs have stopped being my writing fix? Which would make me feel better for not keeping up with Wordless Wednesday or Thursday Thirteen (*must* put that up tomorrow! LOL)

Dark Host is going well. I'm heading out of the middle and into the 'OMG WTF am I thinking' ending. *grin* I just have to get past the sex scene, which are always the hardest to write. Fights and gore and action, or for contemporaries, characters flaying each other with acidic words * grin * are easy compared to writing a sex scene.

It doesn't help that I have a three year old jumping on me, demanding Dr Who (okay, watching David Tennant can be a mite inspiring) or wanting food, or needing me to find his Luna Jim sunglasses when there's a monsoon outside. And then I have tidying, washing, cleaning... so I'm trying to remember when is a good time for me to get my characters horizontal, vertical or possibly trapezoid...

Nighttime. With the monsters in bed and the other half occupied on his laptop - usually blogging about what bizarre thing he saw on the river today.

And I also have to finish the ms first; having the ominous tag * insert sex scene here * and vague number of words before not letting it worry me and moving onto the end. When I read through to correct errors and plot holes that's the time to write in the rudeness and it usually flows quite easily. Maybe I have an idea what that scene has to do as well as finally letting the characters loose on each other. Perhaps the pressure is off to actually have the bloody wip finished, LOL and that's why it's easier?

As I posted * way * back, I'm still on a learning curve with analysing how I write, and I'm wondering, anyone else want to share their sex-writing secrets?

Oh and I just have to share this cover for To Summon a Demon out next month, mainly cos I love it, hehe

Wet and Wild: Lifemates by Aline de Chevigny

Blurb: Benton Chaser was the black beaver of his clan. Seeing the pain and suffering his father experienced when his mother was killed. He refused to accept the laws of the clan and find his one true mate. Preferring exiles to the pain he knew was in store if he gave in and the revenge he got seducing the wives of the men who ripped his family apart.

Until he met a feisty Widow name River Maples, who gave the wild animal on her property sanctuary and greeted all men with the barrel of her shot gun. He'd tried everything he could think of to approach her and could only succeed in his were-beaver form. Yet he can't deny the pull he feels towards her, could she be the one thing he'd been running away from for the past hundred years?

Wet and Wild: Courting Damnation by Piper Evyns

Blurb: It's been almost sixty years since Harry met the fairy woman who cursed him. Trapped within the boundaries of Algonquin Park, and forced into the body of a beaver every night, Harry has struggled just to survive.

Guiding a wildlife photographer should have been a simple job, one that would help him survive the winter. But the client, Willow, turns out to be young and sexy with the kind of adventurous spirit Harry used to look for in a woman. The consequences are catastrophic. The fairy's curse dooms Willow to spend each day as a moose, ensuring the lovers will never again touch as humans.

Wet and Wild: Three of Hearts by Elena Croft

Blurb: Sent to Canada to find her mate, Leslie Maple soon realizes life wasn't so hot in Phoenix. With only a photo, she heads to Vancouver where she meets the two most gorgeous men she'd ever seen, identical twins Sebastian and Castor Belvedere. More intriguing are the feelings they invoke in her, the call she just can't seem to resist.

Sebastian and Castor have had enough of the matchmaking games of their Aunt Sharon. An old pro at matchmaking Sharon plays her wild card, asking them to do her a favor by accompanying her to the airport to pick up her latest mate choice. Unfortunately, for them this time Aunt Sharon may be right. But whom does this mate belong too?
